Time to Kick Trump Off Twitter

President Donald Trump is alleged, "the most powerful man in the world" right now. The most powerful man in the world is constantly going into twitter rants and putting us, the people of The United States, at risk and in danger. Some people believe that someone so great and who is supposed to lead this country should not have a Twitter.

I believe that the president should be permitted to have a Twitter account, but operate it as Barack Obama did with his POTUS account, professionally. But I do not believe that the president should act in such a childish and unprofessional manner like Donald Trump has behaved on twitter his entire time as president.

Even without social media, Donald Trump is always talking in an unprofessional way and making our America image look bad. He has threatened multiple countries on twitter. There are more professionals ways to address situations like the Iran situation, instead of running to Twitter and threaten Iran like that. His offensive tweet about the Foreign Minister of North Korea was truly dangerous. His post like that one was close to starting a bigger issue better The United States and North Korea. When he tweets out things like this, it puts our lives in danger. He is being completely reckless and selfish. I think that there should be a law or something in place that restricts the President of The United States' social media usage.

So I propose this question, should the president of The United States be authorized to have a Twitter account?

  1. I completely agree with you upon the fact that Trump's twitter use is not only humiliating, but more so very dangerous for us. On the humiliating side, Trump tweeted about John Legend calling him a "boring" and his wife "foul mouthed." The fact that our President is even allowed to tweet at celebrities for whatever reason is, as you mentioned, highly unprofessional. On the dangerous side, his tweet about North Korea is terrifying. The concept that our President could pursue even further conflicts with other foreign countries through TWITTER, is absolutely obscene. I agree with you that there should be some sort of boundaries for use of social media in a position that high. Because social media is a relatively new source of media, maybe there hasn't been a need to create such laws. But like you said, Obama used a twitter platform in a professional manner, as a President should. So maybe it is just the idiocracy of Trump to even prompt the need for President social media laws. Your opening statement that he is the " most powerful man in the world" right now is chilling yet very true! Why should a man of such high power be allowed to blatantly misuse his power through reckless actions such as tweeting. Not only is it disconcerting, it's embarrassing for all of the people whom this one man represents as a whole. To answer your question, I don't necessarily think that the President should not have access/use of twitter. I believe that the problem is not the popular media platform, it is the person behind the account misusing it. Twitter is extremely beneficial to raise awareness about a number of issues, including political ones. Twitter most certainly can be used for good, especially to reach millennial and make us more informed. Banning twitter use for President's may be considered, but kicking Trump out of office would solve the embarrassing and dangerous issue altogether. Overall, your blog is intriguing and I'm in complete agreement!
